BEIJING, July 27 (Xinhua) -- A China-Europe freight train carrying 100 TEUs of goods valuing about 1.4 million U.S. dollars departed from Xuzhou of east China's Jiangsu province on July 26, heading towards Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia, marking a new international cargo route of Xuzhou China-Europe freight train, reported local newspaper Wednesday.
Via Erenhot port, the train takes about 6 days to arrive in Ulan Bator, which effectively helps foreign trade enterprises in the Huaihai Economic Zone to export goods to Mongolia, achieving cost savings and efficiency goals.
Starting from this year, Xuzhou has upgraded facilities and effectively improved operation quality of freight trains. Through continuous improvement of international channels layout, its transportation and shipment service level has been continuously enhanced, a Belarusian return train was handled and the China-Europe train station Yangtun was put into use during the period.
Currently, through five ports of Erenhot, Manzhouli, Horgos, Alashankou, and Suifenhe, Xuzhou China-Europe freight trains connect Russia, Poland, Germany and other Eurasian countries and more than 50 cities worldwide.
