BEIJING, July 20 (Xinhua) -- State Grid Changsha Power Supply Company in Changsha, central China's Hunan province recently paid visits to hundreds of enterprises to know about their power consumption situation, prescribe solutions and help them reduce electricity costs.
The move came as a response to Changsha's call to help enterprises blunt the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and cope with economic downward pressure.
In June, the company set up 100 working groups consisting of 400 staff to provide door-to-door services for 1,108 enterprise clients and 11 government bodies of industrial parks at provincial level and above.
Having in-depth understanding of enterprises' low-carbon demand and equipment energy consumption, the company provided clients with new plans for energy-saving transformation and energy consumption reduction, thus helping them cut electricity costs.
For example, finding that the power consumption of Yunda Central Plaza in Yuhua District of Changsha has increased sharply since the beginning of summer, staff of State Grid Changsha Power Supply Company put forward suggestions on the adjustment of implemented electricity price based on a detailed analysis of the client's power load, electricity costs, electricity demand and other aspects. Once adopted, the suggestions are expected to save the client more than 50,000 yuan of electricity charges per month.
By analyzing clients' electricity costs, the rationality of time-of-use pricing system and offering suggestions, the company has helped 603 enterprises reduced their monthly electricity expenditure by about 600,000 yuan on average. (Edited by Su Dan with Xinhua Silk Road, sudan@xinhua.org)
