BEIJING, July 18 (Xinhua) -- China had set up a total of 1.7 million 5G base stations by the end of May this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) said recently.
The 5G network has covered all prefecture-level cities and county-level urban areas, and 92 percent of township-level urban areas across the country by the end of May this year, according to the MIIT.
Meanwhile, every 10,000 people in China has enjoyed more than twelve 5G base stations.
It is learned that the number of 5G mobile users in China had reached 428 million by the end of May.
