BEIJING, July 18 (Xinhua) -- The capital city Hefei of east China’s Anhui Province and Salamanca, Spain jointly held events to establish friendly cooperative relations on July 14. The events were held simultaneously in Madrid and Hefei city, connected by video conference between them.
The events witnessed the signing of the Letter of Intent to Establish a Friendly Cooperation Relationship between Salamanca and Hefei.
Luo Yunfeng, Mayor of Hefei City expressed expectations in fostering cooperation between the cities, saying that Hefei will actively participate in the construction of the Belt and Road (B&R), and extend the China-Europe freight train service to Salamanca to create high-quality international business environment for enterprises in the two cities.
Noting the prospect of cooperation between Hefei and Salamanca, Salamanca Mayor Carlos Manuel García Carbayo said over video conference that Salamanca is eager to reach this collaboration, and looking forward to deepening exchanges and cooperation for a shared future between the two cities.
Hefei has achieved outstanding economic development with a regional GDP exceeding 1 trillion yuan for two consecutive years. The two cities are expected to achieve more cooperation in automobile manufacturing, new energy, and digital technology.
