BEIJING, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Over the past year, a special team from the State Grid Hunan Electric Power Company Limited, a subsidiary of the State Grid Corporation of China, has been working in Xiangxi Fenghuang County's Chunmuping village in Hunan Province, taking active part in the province's efforts to consolidate poverty alleviation achievements and promote the local industrial development, boosting the revitalization of rural development.
Since the team began its work in Chunmuping village, it has carried out a monitoring program covering all 876 people in the village, keeping close contact with special groups with living difficulties, and taking targeted measures to help them in public welfare jobs matching and medical assistance applying.
In the past year, the team provided a total of 36 short-term jobs for the villagers, which made their per capita income increased 6,152 yuan, and helped 5 families eliminate the risk of returning to poverty.
In terms of power security, the team has totally invested 5.4 million yuan to complete the village-level power grid upgrading and transformation by actively cooperating with the State Grid Hunan Electric Power Company Limitedand State Grid Xiangxi Power Supply Company, which has greatly improved the average capacity and power supply reliability of Chunmuping Village.
Since the work team was stationed in the village, the electricity for living and production has become more secure, which strengthened villager's confidence in operating tea processing factories and helped increase people's income who are lifted out of poverty, according to manager from Awen Tea Company in Chunmuping Village.
In 2021, the gross income of the village collective tea sales reached 270,000 yuan and the cumulative income of the village collective economy exceed 1 million yuan.
In addition, the team also made efforts in construction of village infrastructure and set up "love supermarket", which guides and encourages villagers to actively participate in the village's public services.
