BEIJING, July 7 (Xinhua) -- Southeast China-based Xiamen Bank issued on July 4 one billion yuan of 3-year green financial bonds via the online issuance system of China Foreign Exchange Trade System (CFETS), reported Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News Thursday.
The bond product is the first of its kind that supports online subscription and distribution by buyers both at home and abroad.
The 3-year green financial bonds were issued at 2.89 percent yield, which represents a new low for comparable financial bonds issued by financial institutions located in Fujian Province in southeast China.
CITIC Securities is the bookkeeper and lead underwriter for the bond issuance and Bank of China is the co-lead underwriter.
The bonds were 4.5 times subscribed with exuberant subscription by overseas investor CSI Capital Management Ltd. and domestic institutions of multiple types such as banks, fund firms, and asset management institutions. (Edited by Duan Jing with Xinhua Silk Road, duanjing@xinhua.org)
