BEIJING, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Harbin Taiping International Airport in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, handled a total of 77 cargo charter flights transporting about 2386 tonnes of cargo to Russia in the first half of 2022, a year-on-year increase of 100.71 percent, hitting a new high in cargo throughput.

According to statistics from Harbin Taiping International Airport, since the launch of Harbin's first e-commerce charter flights to Russia in December 2013, a total of about 24,000 tonnes of goods was shipped.

In recent years, cargo charter flights to Russia have become an important channel for China's stable international supply chain. It is learned the operation frequency of Harbin-Moscow cargo charter line has reached 7 flights per week.

In the future, Heilongjiang Airport Management Group, the operator of the airport, will further build Harbin into an international air cargo hub so as to better promote the opening-up of Heilongjiang Province to the outside world.
