BEIJING, July 4 (Xinhua) -- U.S. carmaker Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory has returned to full production capacity in June, with the company's monthly production hitting a record high, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported on Sunday.
The carmaker said on Sunday that it produced more than 258,000 globally vehicles in the second quarter of this year.
According to the company, it delivered over 254,000 vehicles from the April-June period, up from 201,250 vehicles in the same period of 2021.
Besides, the output of Model 3 and Model Y models reached 242,200 units in the second quarter of this year, up 19 percent year on year, the company said.
Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory is the first wholly foreign-owned car manufacturing enterprise in China. At present, the Shanghai Gigafactory saw the localization rate of spares reach 90 percent.
