WUHAN, July 4 (Xinhua) -- A total of 240 China-Europe freight train trips have been launched in Wuhan, the capital city of central China's Hubei province, in the first half of 2022, up 65 percent year-on-year, according to the local railway authorities.
Specifically, among the 240 trains, 136 are outbound freight trains, up 67.9 percent y-o-y. 104 trains are inbound ones, an increase of 60 percent over the same period of last year.
The main products of imports were milk powder, Volvo cars, newsprint and furniture accessories. Apart from previous export goods including electronic components, auto parts and etc., Wuhan further extended its export scope to commodities such as baby safety seats and solar modules.
Besides, the train operation frequency has jumped up to 2 to 3 trips within a day, a new high in the recent ten years.
Thanks to continuously growing operation of China-Europe freight train Wuhan, its supply of goods has gradually spread from the Yangtze River Delta region to East China and South China areas.
In terms of line expansion, during the period, Wuhan China-Europe freight train launched a new route directly linking Helsinki, Finland via Manzhouli.
China-Europe freight train has been favored by domestic and foreign enterprises for its fast and punctual, safe and stable, green and environment-friendly characteristics.
