BEIJING, June 22 (Xinhua) -- The China-Japan-ROK economic and trade index was officially published during the 2022 East Asia Marine Cooperation Platform Qingdao Forum which was held on Wednesday in Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province.
Focusing on trade between China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK), the index covers indicators of multiple dimensions including trade in goods, trade in services, investment cooperation and cross-border trade efficiency, providing an international evaluation model and a digital information exchanging platform that are featured with characteristics of China-Japan-ROK cooperation.
The index analyzes the situation and trend of economic and trade development among China, Japan and ROK through national, regional, and city levels. The result shows that cooperation among the three countries in economic and trade sectors has been continuously deepening in 2021, maintaining a steady, healthy and rapidly growing trend.
According to the index, the scale of trade in goods among China, Japan, and ROK was able to remain steady growth despite the challenging international economic environment. China has been the largest trading partner of Japan for 15 consecutive years and that of ROK for 18 consecutive years.
At the same time, China has made effective efforts to facilitate cross-border trade, with overall customs clearance time significantly shortened, as well as comprehensive service capabilities and business environment of border ports continuously improved.
As the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership has come into effect, the launch of this China-Japan-ROK economic and trade index is just in time with practical significance and reference value. It is expected to better promote the development of trade cooperation among the three countries and serve the demands for information of the regional international trade market, according to a relevant expert.
