MILAN, June 16 (Class Editori) — Starting from the second half of June, Italy and China will have four direct weekly routes, operated equally by Italian and Chinese companies. This is the result of the great work in recent months of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, particularly of Ettore Sequi, —former Ambassador to China and now Secretary General of the Ministry— and of the Embassy of Italy in Beijing, headed by Luca Ferrari, to increase air connections between the two countries.
Hainan Airlines will resume the route between Chongqing and Rome, Air China will fly between Beijing and Milan, landing in Hohhot from Italy, and the Italian charter company Neos Air will operate two weekly routes from Milan Malpensa to Tianjin and to Nanjing.
In addition to this marked increase in air routes between the two countries, which meets the demands of the Italian business world and the community of compatriots residing in China, the Embassy of Italy has obtained permission from China to operate three special charter flights, again this year, in July, August and September, respectively.
The charters, jointly organized with the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) and operated with Neos Air carriers, will be dedicated primarily to Italian citizens who need to move, safely, between Italy and China during the summer period.
