HOHHOT, June 15 (Xinhua) -- North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region saw robust foreign trade growth in the first five months of 2022, statistics from the local customs showed Wednesday.
The region's total import and export value hit 54.6 billion yuan (about 8.1 billion U.S. dollars) from January to May, up 12.6 percent year on year.
Exports rose 31.3 percent to 24.01 billion yuan from the same period last year, while imports increased 1.3 percent to 30.59 billion yuan.
The region's trade with countries along the Belt and Road reached 31.14 billion yuan, up 11.8 percent.
The customs also noted significant increases in trade with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the European Union, which rose 41.3 percent and 58 percent respectively.
