BEIJING, June 13 (Xinhua) -- China's used car sales rebounded in May, with both sales volume and value recording month-on-month rises, data from the China Automobile Dealers Association shows.
Over 1.18 million used cars changed hands in China last month, up 7.98 percent from April, and the value of transactions rose 9.85 percent month on month to about 82.56 billion yuan (12.29 billion U.S. dollars), according to the association.
China's secondhand car sales saw monthly increases in five out of the six major areas in May, led by the northeastern region with its sales surging 98.02 percent from one month earlier.
In the first five months of 2022, China's used car sales neared 6.17 million units, down 10.69 percent from the same period last year.
The association is optimistic about the market performance in June, noting that demand disrupted by COVID-19 will lead to new opportunities, especially in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Zhengzhou.
