BEIJING, June 7 (Xinhua) -- A China-Europe freight train loaded with auto parts, home building materials and other goods departed from the China-Kazakhstan International Logistics Base in Lianyungang on June 5, marking the China-Europe freight train operated by Lianyungang exceeding 4,500 ones, reported Chinanews.com on Monday.
Yang Long, chairman of Lianyungang Port Holding Group, introduced that the China-Kazakhstan International Logistics Base has realized intelligent scheduling, visualized production and unmanned operations. The base has gradually become an international economic platform for transit transportation, warehousing and logistics between the Central Asia and China.
Since being put into use, the base has seen cargo throughput reaching 26.62 million tonnes, while the container volume reaching 1.562 million TEUs, noted Yang.
It is learned that six China-Europe freight trains routes from the Lianyungang China-Kazakhstan International Logistics Base connect 104 international freight stations. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the Lianyungang China-Europe freight trains continuously transported anti-epidemic materials to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Poland and other countries.
During the first five months of this year, total logistics volume of the base reached 24.8504 million tonnes, a year-on-year increase of 44 percent, with the main revenue of logistics industry reaching 1.387 billion yuan.
