BEIJING, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Over 10 percent of the total revenue of NetEase Games, the online games arm of China's internet and online game services provider NetEase (09999.HK), comes from overseas markets, Ding Lei, CEO of NetEase said on Tuesday.
When asked about NetEase's layout in overseas games markets, Ding said that the company attaches great importance to overseas markets and games development. He hoped revenue from overseas games markets could account for 40 to 50 percent of the total games business revenue.
Ding also expressed his desire to work with more excellent foreign teams on content development.
So far, NetEase Games has set up studios in Canada, the U.S.and Japan, dedicated to developing high-quality PC and console games for the global market.
The net revenue of NetEase's online game services in the first quarter of this year reached 17.3 billion yuan, up 15.3 percent year on year, according to the company's filing with the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited on Tuesday. (Edited by Su Dan with Xinhua Silk Road, sudan@xinhua.org)
