BEIJING, May 23 (Xinhua) -- SAIC Motor (600104.SH), a leading Chinese automaker, aims to sell 3 million new energy vehicles (NEVs) by the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), reported Shanghai Securities News on Sunday.
According to Chen Hong, chairman of SAIC Motor, the company will continue to strengthen its core capabilities of developing the three technical lines of "pure electric, hybrid, and fuel cell" vehicles and optimize the product layout.
In addition, SAIC Motor will accelerate the integration of vehicle electrification and intelligent connectivity technologies, building the vehicle into a multifunctional "big terminal".
Zhiji Auto, Feifan Auto, and other SAIC-owned vehicle companies will also launch such different models of NEVs as pure electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles.
The sales of NEVs will maintain a rapid growth momentum during 2021 to 2025 and account for over 35 percent of the total sales of SAIC Motor by 2025, said Chen Hong.
