BEIJING, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese construction machinery manufacturer Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group Co., Ltd. (XCMG) will supply mining and infrastructure equipment to Brazilian mining giant Vale in 2022, according to a contract signed by the two parties on May 18.
The made-in-China equipment, including 5 sets of graders, will be delivered to Vale's operating area in Brazil by the end of this year.
The signing of the contract makes XCMG officially become the supplier of Vale.
Having XCMG as a supplier allows Vale to better leverage the scale and technology that China's manufacturing industry has acquired over decades of development, said Marco Braga, Vale's chief procurement officer and global inbound logistics director.
On October 26, 2021, Vale inked a memorandum of cooperation with XCMG on the potential supply of mining and infrastructure equipment, including zero-emission equipment and autonomous driving equipment. Among them, two zero-emission battery-powered mining trucks with a load of 72 tonnes will be delivered to Vale's operating areas in Brazil and Indonesia as scheduled in June.
