BEIJING, May 10 (Xinhua) -- The New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, a trade and logistics passage jointly built by western Chinese provincial regions and Singapore, launched a new transport route linking Russia and south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Carrying 25 containers of made-in-Russia daily necessities worth more than 4 million yuan, the route's first freight train from Russia stopped at southwest China's Chongqing and left the municipality on Monday for the final destination of Guangxi.
The new Russia-Chongqing-Guangxi freight service is estimated to take about 18 days, cutting the logistics time by 15 to 20 days compared with the traditional way of sea transport. (Edited by Su Dan with Xinhua Silk Road, sudan@xinhua.org)
