MILAN, April 29 (Class Editori) — Philippe Donnet was confirmed at the helm of Generali Group and Andrea Sironi became Chairman. As expected, the list of the Board of Directors, which reconfirmed the current Group CEO for a third term, obtained most votes at the shareholders' meeting held this morning to appoint the Group's new Board.
The list of the Board won, precisely, with 55.992% of votes while the alternative list, presented by the group of Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone, obtained 41.73% and Assogestioni, with 1.9%, will not be represented on the Board.
The new Board will be composed of 13 members, 10 of which are the expression of the Board's list, namely President Sironi and CEO Donnet as well as Clemente Rebecchini, Diva Moriani, Luisa Torchia, Alessia Falsarone, Lorenzo Pellicioli, Clara Furse, Umberto Malesci, Antonella Mei-Pochtler. While the entrepreneur himself along with Marina Brogi and Flavio Cattaneo enter the Board of Directors as representatives of the Caltagirone list.
"The majority expressed itself clearly and unambiguously. I sincerely thank you for the trust you have given us and from tomorrow we will be at work to complete the industrial plan and work with determination and serenity in the interests of all stakeholders for the success of Generali," Donnet commented, while on the stock exchange General's share remains pinned at +0.31% to 18.055 euros.
