BEIJING, May 6 (Xinhua) -- China's major carmaker SAIC Motor Corporation Limited (600104.SH) said on Thursday that the company is speeding up the development of mobile battery business model as well as the deployment of battery charging and battery swap networks.
The company noted that its passenger vehicle branch had launched battery-swap featured ROEWE Ei5 model targeting the taxi market back in April of 2021, and has now achieved batch-bulk delivery. The battery swap model stands out in terms of fast energy-replenishment thus improve the taxi capacity, the company said.
The company expects to launch power-swap EV models at larger scale, it noted.
