BEIJING, April 26 (Xinhua) -- PwC China on Monday signed a strategic cooperation agreement with CDP, a global organization derived from the Carbon Disclosure Project. The two parties will join hands to provide professional service to support clients in low-carbon transformation, reported Chinanews.com.
Sustainable ESG (environmental, social, governance) is one of the five major investment areas of PwC China in the next five years. The global auditing and consulting firm is determined to work with CDP to promote enterprises' carbon disclosure to achieve the "dual carbon" goals, according to Cai Xiaoying, PwC China ESG managing partner.
Efforts are being made across the globe for a sustainable future, underlining the fundamental function of carbon disclosure, said PwC China ESG markets leader Ni Qing. With CDP's expertise in carbon disclosure and PwC's practical service experience in sustainable development, the two sides are to help clients come up with strategies and long-term plans to cope with climate change, achieving real sustainable development with enhanced ESG performance, Ni said.
With PwC joining the CDP network, users of the CDP disclosure system should be supported with valuable expertise, guiding them to make leading actions in risk management and reducing environmental impact, according to Paul Robins, head of corporate partnerships at CDP.
