BEIJING, April 26 (Xinhua) -- China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC)'s first intelligent production line of rotary steerable drilling and random drilling "Xuanji" system has recently been put into operation in Foshan, south China's Guangdong Province, reported Economic Information Daily Monday.
This marks that China's independently developed "Xuanji" system has officially entered the stage of large-scale industrialization.
The"Xuanji" system can accurately control the drill bit thousands of meters underground to target the oil layer, and even "remotely drive" the drill tool to stably traverse more than 1,000 meters horizontally or obliquely in the 0.7-meter thin oil layer, according to CNOOC, China's largest offshore oil and gas producer.
It can also realize real-time analysis of the stratigraphic data. It will help greatly reduce the development cost of oil-gas fields and efficiently develop marine oil and gas resources.
The intelligent production line of "Xuanji" system is one of the core contents of CNOOC's building of an "intelligent manufacturing chain" of high-end oil and gas exploration equipment.
The completion and operation of the "Xuanji" system "intelligent manufacturing chain" marks that China has the ability of integrating scientific research, production, sales and services in the field of rotary steerable drilling and random drilling, which can effectively guarantee the independent control of domestic high-end technical equipment, noted Shang Jie, a company official with CNOOC.
According to Shang, the "Xuanji" system intelligent production line has the capacity of producing 100 sets of high-end equipment such as "Xuanji" annually, which will further strengthen China's capacity for energy self-sufficiency.
It's learned that the intelligent production line was built by WELLTECH, the first mixed ownership company of CNOOC engaged in high-end oil exploration and development equipment manufacturing.
