BEIJING, April 19 (Xinhua) -- A freight train loaded with 1,000 tonnes of aluminum products made by Xingfa aluminum industry (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. left Chengdu City, southwest China's Sichuan Province on Monday for Vietnam's capital Hanoi, marking the launch of the first enterprise tailored express from Chengdu to Vietnam.
This was also the first time for the company to deliver products to Vietnam by railway.
Miao Bing, the company's chief financial officer, said that it would take five to seven days for the products to be transported to Hanoi by railway, saving 30 percent of shipping time and 20 percent of costs compared with the traditional way of road and air transportation.
With railway transportation ensuring goods delivery, Vietnamese enterprises' confidence in made-in China products will be strengthened, said Miao.
So far, Chengdu has opened 52 international freight train routes, connecting many countries in ASEAN region, central Asia and Europe. (Edited by Su Dan with Xinhua Silk Road, sudan@xinhua.org)
