ZHENGZHOU, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Foreign trade in central China's Henan Province hit nearly 203.4 billion yuan (about 31.9 billion U.S. dollars) in the first quarter of 2022, according to Zhengzhou customs.
The figure was a 5.1-percent growth from the same period of last year, it added.
Of the total trade volume, exports rose 2.5 percent year on year to 123.4 billion yuan while imports expanded by 9.5 percent to nearly 80 billion yuan.
Henan's principal trade partners in the first quarter were the United States, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, and the European Union. The province also maintained trade growth with the markets of Belt and Road countries and member countries under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.
Mobile phones accounted for 54 percent of the province's exports in Q1, while exports of labor-intensive products and agricultural produce registered growth. Mobile phone accessories, metal ores and crude oil were the main imported products of Henan during the period.
