BEIJING, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Lenovo is committed to increasing its total R&D investment to over 100 billion yuan in the next five years, reported Economic Information Daily citing a senior manager of Lenovo recently.
Liu Jun, executive vice president of Lenovo Group and president of Lenovo China, made the remarks at an annual meeting of Lenovo, adding that the investment plan is to support the R&D of smart products, smart infrastructure, and smart services.
Lenovo's R&D investment reached 33.8 billion yuan in the past three fiscal years. Meanwhile, the company has also recruited 5,000 talents that are highly competent in technology over the past year. It has established a technology committee which is in charge of developing and implementing overall technology strategy and R&D planning, to promote the R&D more efficiently.
In the new fiscal year, Lenovo plans to continue recruiting around 3,600 R&D talents and more from campus, providing more quality employment opportunities.
