German energy company EON announced a partnership with Belgian company Tree Energy Solutions (TES) on hydrogen, the two companies announced.
The aim is to import green hydrogen to Germany in large quantities and to examine the potential for cooperation on optimizing hydrogen production and use.
EON had already announced a partnership with Australian company Fortescue Future Industries on Tuesday to import hydrogen into Europe.
By 2030, the two companies plan to import up to 5 million tons of green hydrogen into Europe.
Meanwhile, Belgian company TES has announced plans to develop a hub for green energy in Wilhelmshaven, a city in the north-west of Germany.
The plant will contain a delivery terminal, which will also be used for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the medium term, and a storage facility.
Building was meant to start in 2027, but now TES have announced it can begin two years earlier.
