BEIJING, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Approved by the Financial Services Technical Committee of International Organization for Standardization (ISO/TC 68), the Asian Financial Cooperation Association (AFCA) became the first Category A liaison with ISO/TC68 in Asia this month, according to a press release from AFCA available here on Wednesday.
It is an important move for AFCA to strengthen international financial communication and cooperation between Asia and other regions. With aims to provide more services to its members, AFCA will build a platform for members to participate in international financial standardization construction, and promote ISO/TC68 exchanges and cooperation, so as to contribute Asian wisdom to the development of international financial standards.
ISO is an authoritative international organizations in the field of standardization. TC 68 is a very important technical committee of ISO in the field of finance, which is responsible for the standardization of banking, securities and other financial services.
In addition to AFCA, ISO/TC 68 has another 13 Category A liaison organizations, including European Central Bank (ECB), Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) and etc.
