BEIJING, March 22 (Xinhua) -- With a batch of exporting goods worth 1.62 million yuan (about 254,704 U.S. dollars) exited China via Qinzhou Port on March 19, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has launched its first multimodal transport service for cross-border e-commerce through the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, reported Guangxi Daily on Monday.

The shipment involves goods such as mobile phone accessories, clothing and household items, which were transported to Qinzhou Port by road from Guangxi's Nanning Comprehensive Bonded Zone and will arrive in Vietnam via the sea.

As an intersection of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, Qinzhou Port connects with 311 ports in 106 countries and regions across the globe. This newly launched exporting logistics service is an example of Nanning Customs' efforts to utilize the advantageous location of Qinzhou Port, in order to provide e-commerce firms exporting to ASEAN countries with customized transport service that is more stable, efficient and convenient.

With emerging industries like cross-border e-commerce getting increasing support, customs authorities are also striving to promote innovation and optimization of customs clearance services for cross-border e-commerce goods. The new multimodal transport service launched this time provides more logistics options for enterprises and helps them save time and costs in transportation and customs clearance, according to an official with the Nanning Customs.
