NetEase, Microsoft to offer free vocational training to disabled people

Abstract : NetEase Cloud Classroom, a platform offering online courses mainly targeting adults in China operated by Youdao, Inc., announced on Monday to jointly launch a vocational education campaign with Microsoft, in order to help disabled people in China, reported Economic Information Daily.

BEIJING, March 16 (Xinhua) -- NetEase Cloud Classroom, a platform offering online courses mainly targeting adults in China operated by Youdao, Inc., announced on Monday to jointly launch a vocational education campaign with Microsoft, in order to help disabled people in China, reported Economic Information Daily.

The campaign by the two internet giants will offer free online vocational training lessons to 85 million people with disabilities in China, preparing them for jobs, such as illustrator, data analyst and network administrator.

Noting that students in vocational schools and people with disabilities are facing particular challenges in the era of digital economy, Hou Yang, chairman and chief executive officer of Microsoft Greater China, added that Microsoft is privileged to work with NetEase Youdao to provide free training courses for disabled job seekers.

Zhou Feng, chief executive officer of NetEase Youdao, Inc., said that the company has always paid attention to the employment of the disabled, providing about 1,000 job opportunities for the disabled in the past two years. He added that the company will leverage its strengths in digital education to help the disabled improve technical skills and purse a better life.
