BEIJING, March 12 (Xinhua) -- The original premium income of China's automobile insurance sector surged 11.67 percent year on year in January, data from the China Passenger Car Association shows.
The total original premium income of the sector stood at 82.8 billion yuan (about 13.1 billion U.S. dollars) in the period, according to the association.
China's original insurance premium income hit 979.3 billion yuan in January, up 2.23 percent year on year, according to data from the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission.
