InfoQuest (March 3, 2022) - At the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking (JSCCIB), Thailand lowered its 2022 GDP growth forecast to 2.5-4.5 percent from the previous 3.0-4.5 percent, and raised its forecast for headline inflation to 2.0-3.0 percent from 1.5-2.5 percent projected earlier but maintained its export outlook for 3.0-5.0 percent increase.
JSCCIB holds that the Russia-Ukraine conflict would have an impact on Thailand's economy from inflation, exports and tourism. It recommended that the government work with the private sector to form a working team so that the private enterprises could access the latest information about other countries' sanction against Russia and monitor and assess the situation in Ukraine.
