BEIJING, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- SF Airlines and Shuangliu District Government in Chengdu, Sichuan province held a signing ceremony Wednesday, announcing that the western headquarters project of SF Airlines was officially settled in Chengdu Shuangliu, reported Chinanews. com.
According to the agreement singed, in the future, SF Airlines will continue to layout route network in Chengdu, increase the investment in capacity promotion and all-cargo aircraft, realizing the high capacity international all-cargo fleet. In addition, the company will make full-swing efforts to build Chengdu Shuangliu base into SF Airlines' western international aviation hub, which will enable the airline to connect the major global air cargo hub node cities by the international and domestic cargo routes to be built.
At present, SF Airlines has laid out four all-cargo routes in Beijing, Hangzhou, Shenzhen and Shanghai, and opened two international all-cargo routes in Dhaka, Bangladesh and Kathmandu, Nepal. 158,000 tonnes of cargo and mail throughput was achieved in Shuangliu Airport in 2021, with an increase of 7.8 percent year-on-year.
According to Li Sheng, vice president of Shunfeng Group and chairman of Shunfeng Airlines, the project will operate more than 50 aircraft and add more than 150,000 tonnes of all-cargo's throughput per year at Shuangliu Airport within 10 years after being put into operation, aiming to build a professional air logistics integrated operator with global competitiveness.
In the past two years, air cargo has been maintaining a strong growth trend. The aviation market in Chengdu is active, with route networks and passenger throughput ranking among the top in China. Unlike the passenger transport, Chengdu's air cargo market still has huge space for growth, said the person in charge of SF Airlines.
