BEIJING, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- The Changchun Customs District has issued 45 certificates of origin to 17 enterprises in northeast China's Jilin Province since the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) entered into force on Jan 1, 2022, reported Shanghai Securities News quoting customs data.
Products of these enterprises are mainly exported to countries where RCEP already came into force, including Japan, Australia and Thailand, with tariff cuts of over one million yuan expected.
"Thanks to the implementation of RCEP, tariff on our ester products exported to Japan has dropped to zero. Tariff on ether products has also fallen by 0.3 percent and will see further decrease year by year," said Wang Yunguang, the customs manager of Jilin Yida Chemical Co., Ltd., which has just received its first RCEP certificate of origin for exports to Japan.
"It is estimated that RCEP certificates of origin will help the company save over 500,000 yuan in customs duties this year, and more importantly, enables us to better explore the global market", added Wang.
The Changchun Customs has set up a team to instruct enterprises on the rules of origin and tariff concession arrangements under RCEP. It has also established an integrated platform for the application and reception of RCEP certificates of origin and taken measures like intelligent examination, self-service printing and credit visa to improve the efficiency of issuance.
