BEIJING, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- East China's Hefei, capital of Anhui Province, operated 69 China-Europe freight train standard trips in January this year, up more than 50 percent year on year, according to Hefei International Land Port.
A fright train left Russia for Hefei via Erenhot port on last Monday, which marks the opening a new transit stop in Russia, and also a conclusion of eight consecutive freight train services within the two days of January 30 and 31.
On January 30, the outbound "Jianghuai" train carrying some 100 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of auto parts left Hefei for Altynkol station in Kazakhstan via the port of Horgos.
It is noted that Hefei handled 668 China-Europe freight train trips in 2021. In the fist month of the new year, Hefei launched 14 freight train services for enterprises' needs and operated 6 train trips loaded with goods worth over ten million dollars. Meanwhile, the trains have transported goods for epidemic prevention and control across the Eurasian continent.
In addition, the China-Laos international freight train service linking Hefei and the Laos capital Vientiane started operation on January 30. Carrying 70 TEUs of home appliances, the freight train service will help implement the RCEP agreement, Hefei International Land Port said.
