BEIJING, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- Guangzhou Futures Exchange signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Deutsche Borse Group online to explore international cooperation in green finance, reported Shanghai Securities News Thursday.

According to the MOU, the two sides will jointly establish a China-EU cooperation mechanism on green finance by strengthening resource sharing in market research, market promotion and investor education, and promoting cooperation in green products such as carbon emission rights.

China-Germany cooperation has always been a "bellwether" of cooperation between China and the EU, said Hu Zheng, chairman of Guangzhou Futures Exchange, adding that climate change is one of the cooperation areas with the greatest growth potential between China and Germany.

As a leading infrastructure provider in international market, Deutsche Borse Group is committed to contributing to the green transformation of finance and the real economy, said Thomas Book, executive board member of Deutsche Borse Group, who hopes to further support and promote the development of China's green market with Guangzhou Futures Exchange.
