BEIJING, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- Bank of Communications (BoCom) will strive to gather funds, technology, network, information and talents from larger scale to facilitate the construction of Shanghai International Financial Center, said Zhou Wanfu, vice president of BoCom on Saturday.
The remarks were made on the Shanghai International Financial Center Development Forum 2021, where Zhou introduced specific focuses of BoCom's future efforts in promoting the development of Shanghai International Financial Center.
By exploring ways to support technological development through financial innovation and systematically enriching sci-tech finance products, BoCom will take use of the virtuous circle of finance, technology and industry to develop new modes of sci-tech financial service, said Zhou.
It is also important to participate in the construction of financial factor market through giving play to RMB's global asset allocation function, said Zhou, noting that the state-owned bank will continue to support the construction of RMB offshore financial system and implement policy innovations in practice.
While actively promoting the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, BoCom will also upgrade its financial service system for free trade zones (FTZs) to motivate interactive development between the international trade center and the Shanghai International Financial Center, in a bid to enhance cross-border free trade and investment, Zhou noted.
BoCom will make further efforts in converting Shanghai into an international hub for green finance. This includes developing green finance policies and products, actively responding to the city's needs and participating in the construction of carbon trading market, increasing input of green finance resources, and improving the ESG (environmental, social, governance) risk management system, he added.
