BEIJING, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- The Ministry of Transport (MOT) will take multiple measures to facilitate domestic and international logistics supply chains in a stable manner, reported Shanghai Securities News Thursday.

According to an official from MOT at a national transport work conference held on Thursday, the ministry will give full play to the role of the coordination working mechanism of international logistics.

Statistics from the MOT showed that by the end of November, China had operated 14,000 China-Europe freight trains and 74,000 international cargo flights, up 20.3 percent and 25.8 percent year on year respectively. A total of 2.415 million tons of goods were carried through international routes, while 1.93 billion parcels were delivered to China's Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and foreign countries and regions. International road transport volume had reached 42 million tons, equivalent to the same period of last year.

In the next step, the MOT will speed up the improvement of the international logistics channel network, and strive to solve the problem of cargo congestion at railway and highway ports.
