BEIJING, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- A series of energy-related indexes jointly compiled by China Economic Information Service and the energy authority of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region were released Wednesday to help boost the development of the energy industry in Inner Mongolia.

The Inner Mongolia Tax and Electricity Index, composed of the KWH tax Index and the tax and electricity efficiency index, is aimed to reflect the effectiveness of regional power consumption and power market operation.

The KWH tax index measures the tax paid per kilowatt-hour of electricity consumed, and the tax and electricity efficiency index represents the operation effect of the market transaction of electricity by comparing the tax amount with the reduction value of electricity cost.

From 2016 to the third quarter of 2021, the KWH tax index of Inner Mongolia shows an upward trend of shock, indicating that the tax output of unit energy consumption in Inner Mongolia continues to increase. The index stood at 14.73 points in the third quarter of 2021, the highest level since the data was collected.

The operation results of the tax and electricity efficiency index show that in the west and east of Inner Mongolia, the three industries of electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply, transportation, warehousing and postal services, and mining rank the top three, indicating that the market transaction of electricity plays the most obvious positive role in the operation of these three industries.

The China·Inner Mongolia Modern Energy Economic Development Index, China's first comprehensive evaluation index of energy economy, was first released in 2020. It is constructed from four dimensions of green development, economic efficiency, innovation-driven development and social contribution to objectively and comprehensively evaluate the development level of modern energy economy in Inner Mongolia.

The operation results of the index show that the development level of modern energy economy in Inner Mongolia maintains an upward trend, and the index value in 2020 recorded 112.99 points with a slight increase of 1.53 percent from 2019.

The green development sub-index maintained a rapid upward trend, registering 119.68 points in 2020, up 11.23 percent from 2019. Indicators related to green development of coal and energy supply structure optimization continue to rise.

The economic efficiency sub-index maintained a stable operation as a whole, recording 102.42 points in 2020, down 0.56 percent from 2019. Indicators related to large-scale and mechanized coal mining remain high, and those related to efficient coal power generation continue to rise.

The innovation-driven sub-index maintained an upward trend, standing at 113.54 points in 2020, up 0.76 percent from 2019.

As for the social contribution sub-index, the energy industry of Inner Mongolia, an important energy and strategic resource base in China, is playing an increasingly important role in securing national energy security, with the inter-provincial power transmission and coal reserves continuing to rise, and the electricity consumption in rural and pastoral areas increasing year by year.

The Inner Mongolia New Energy High Quality Development Index is the first high quality new energy development index in Inner Mongolia. It is constructed from three dimensions of new energy industry reform, social contribution and innovation-driven development, aiming to scientifically evaluate the development effect of new energy industry in Inner Mongolia.

In 2020, the index registered 202.71 points, up 102.71 percent from the base period (2015), with the compound annual growth rate of the new energy industry reform, social contribution and innovation-driven sub-indexes respectively recording 17.34 percent, 18.20 percent and 8.95 percent, indicating that the high quality development of new energy in Inner Mongolia is improving rapidly.
