First China-Pakistan co-produced animation film screened in Beijing

Abstract : The premiere of the first China-Pakistan co-produced animation movie “The Beastman in the Fantasy Forest” was hosted at in Beijing on Sunday.

BEIJING, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- The first China-Pakistan co-produced animation movie "Allahyar and the legend of Markhor" (The Beastman in the Fantasy Forest) was screened and a ceremony was hosted to mark the premiere of the movie in Beijing on Sunday.

The event was a part of the celebratory activities to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, focusing on people to people and cultural exchanges between the two countries, according to a press release from the Pakistan Embassy to China in Beijing.

The movie set in a wild forest at the city of Kashgar in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The story follows Allahyar, a young and mischievous boy who ends up dealing with circumstances he never thought possible with an aim to shed light on the preservation and illegal hunting of wildlife.

Speaking on the occasion, Moin ul Haque, Pakistan Ambassador to China, said that the movie was a groundbreaking milestone as the first joint animation production of the two countries. It shared the important message of wildlife and natural resources preservation especially with the young. He looked forward to both the countries doing more of such successful joint ventures in the future and more Pakistani films and dramas being available for the viewers in China.

The premier event was co-hosted by Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Beijing and China Film Co-production Corporation (CFCC). It was widely attended by general public, officials of China Film Co-Production Corporation, Pakistani community, media representatives and diplomats.
