China Awards, Boselli to define Beijing as the lifeline for major companies' financial statements

December 15, 2021

Abstract : During the first ten months of 2021, Italian export to China increased by 28% compared to 2020 and by 20% to 2019 thus reaching around 13-billion worth exported goods and services

MILAN, Dec. 14 (Class Editori) — During the first ten months of 2021, Italian export to China increased by 28% compared to 2020 and by 20% to 2019 thus reaching around 13-billion worth exported goods and services. During the sixteenth edition of the China Awards organized by Class Editori and Italy China Foundation in order to award 17 companies that better seized the opportunities offered by relations between China and Italy, Luca Ferrari, Italian Ambassador to China, pointed out that "we must not content ourselves with this." Trade between the two countries already reached 66.8 billion dollars during a year characterized by several important events, as the G20 in Glasgow and the 100thanniversary of the Chinese Communist Party, and therefore by several exchanges, Li Junhua, Chinese Ambassador to Italy, added.

"We decided to award 17 Italian and Chinese companies that have been resilient and have seized opportunities in this difficult period," Mario Boselli, President of the Italy China Foundation, pointed out, adding that "if there were no China, the universally recognized largest companies that export 30% to 50% of their products to China would have serious problems making ends meet." In the background there is a need to keep an open channel between the two countries and "a dialogue that, certainly, today is more necessary than when it was easy to come and go from China".

Moreover, as recalled by Paolo Panerai, Editor-in-Chief and CEO of Class Editori, China is destined to become "the greatest power in the world," with which it is necessary to relaunch cooperation in competition, as Prime Minister Mario Draghi also stated. "We are convinced that the correct interpretation is on the one hand cooperation, which we pursue in many ways; on the other hand, competition: we must be competitive. Today's event is an opportunity to reward Italian and Chinese companies that have been active in the spirit of collaboration, cooperation and competition".
