BEIJING, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) – The facilitation measures of cross-border trade have boosted foreign trade growth in Hohhot Customs District in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, which recorded a surge of 33.5 percent year on year in imports and exports volume to 86.08 billion yuan in the first ten months of the year, according to statistics from the Hohhot Customs District of China's General Administration of Customs (GAC).
During the same period, the customs clearance procedure was further optimized at Hohhot customs, shortening import and export clearance time by 72.43 percent and 84.7 percent, respectively.
Hohhot customs released 52 measures to promote cross-border trade facilitation, relying on the development of Inner Mongolia's foreign trade demand, said the customs, adding that the measures provided a reliable policy guarantee for serving foreign trade enterprises and optimizing the business environment in the region.
Data shows that the Hohhot customs handled 26.438 million tonnes of cargo in the first ten months. Erenhot, the largest land port on the China-Mongolia border, saw 2,203 inbound China-Europe freight trains in the period, with a year-on-year increase of 12.86 percent.
The Hohhot customs vows to deepen further customs cooperation with the Belt and Road (B&R) countries and regions and actively advance in constructing the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor.
