BEIJING, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- The scale of China's big data industry is expected to surpass 3 trillion yuan by the end of 2025, according to a development plan for the big data industry during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025) issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on Tuesday.
According to the plan, the country will likely see the big data industry's compound annual growth rate reach around 25 percent year on year as of the end of 2025 .
The plan also mentioned that an evaluation system of data element will be initially established and a batch of technologically advanced and widely used big data products and services will be formed by then.
MIIT also proposed that China will speed up the cultivation of the data element market, strengthen the research and development of key products, innovate service models and business formats, and push forward the deep integration of big data with various industries.
