MILAN, Nov. 3 (Class Editori) — Companies focused on Asia can rely on a new algorithm-based matchmaking tool to find new business partners in the continent. Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Farnesina) and CDP launched the new Business Matching platform that currently involves China, India and Japan.
In 2022, the new system will expand its operations into Southeast Asia and progressively into other countries on the basis of the priorities expressed by the Steering Committee for Internationalization controlled by Farnesina and the Ministry of Economic Development.
The goal is to support export and internationalization while overcoming physical barriers and restrictions imposed by the pandemic, mainly when it comes to more distant and complex markets. At the same time, foreign companies will use the platform to find new business opportunities in Italy.
Entrepreneurs will be able to access Business Matching from CDP’s and SIMEST’s websites and from Farnesina’s export and internationalization portal. After signing in for free, the Italian company will be asked to indicate its business needs and the type of the foreign counterparts it wishes to meet. Periodically, as soon as the tool is fully operational, the firm will be notified with possible matches with counterparts and with the concerning percentage of affinity on the basis on its own profile.
Moreover, it will be possible to see information on the foreign firm and choose whether or not to accept the contact proposed by the algorithm: in case of positive result, enterprises will be able to arrange an online meeting in a dedicated virtual room on the platform which, if requested, will provide an interpreter.
Business Matching allows registered companies to take part in events and webinars to analyze topics of interest on countries and markets and, thanks to its editorial team, offers news, success stories and interviews with the experts of the main target sectors.
The first week following the launch of the initiative will be dedicated to the enrichment of its database through registrations and implementation of the businesses’ goals. At a later time, the tool will be fully operational and will constantly recommend matches with foreign companies throughout the year.
