BEIJING, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- China's new-energy passenger vehicle sales soared in August, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported on Wednesday.
China saw the wholesale volume of new-energy passenger vehicles spike 202.3 percent year on year to 304,000 units in August, according to a report released by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
The wholesale volume of new-energy passenger vehicles in the first eight months of this year jumped 222.5 percent year on year to 1.64 million units, the report said.
New energy vehicle (NEV) sales amounted to 249,000 units in August, up 167.5 percent year on year, according to the report.
