BEIJING, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- U.S. sci-fi action film "Free Guy" still topped the Chinese mainland box office on Tuesday, figures released by the China Movie Data Information Network showed Wednesday.
The movie, following a bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game and decides to become the hero of his own story, raked in about 24.44 million yuan (around 3.78 million U.S. dollars) on its fifth day of screening.
The domestic action film "Raging Fire" came in second with a daily earning of 9.46 million yuan on the daily box office chart.
Disney and Pixar's animation "Luca" ranked third, generating about 2.46 million yuan on Tuesday. Enditem
