BEIJING, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- China's software and information technology sector posted robust growth in both revenue and profits in the first seven months of this year, official data from Ministry of Industry and Information Technology(MIIT) showed.

During the period, the software sector's business revenue was 5.14 trillionyuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.4 percent, with a compound growth rate of 14.8 percent in the past two years. The industry realized a total profit of 583.8 billion yuan, an increase of 12.3 percent year-on-year from January to July.
Revenue of software products sales achieved 1.34 trillion yuan, an increase of 17.5 percent year-on-year. The continuous release of favorable policies in smart manufacturing and the industrial Internet has promoted 127.3 billion yuan of revenue in industrial software products, a year-on-year increase of 17 percent.
Information technology service sector continued steady expansion, with January-July revenue from e-commerce platform technology services rising 29.3 percent on year to 462.6 billion yuan and that from cloud computing and big data services up 22.8 percent on eyar to 429.8 billion yuan.
