BEIJING, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- China Mobile, one of the country's leading telecommunication operators, reported robust growth in operating revenue in the first half of this year, the Xinhua-run China Securities Journal reported on Friday.
The operator raked in 443.6 billion yuan in operating revenue in the first half of this year, up 13.8 percent year on year, the company said in a statement.
The company's net profits amount to 59.118 billion yuan in the January-June period, an increase of 6 percent from the same period of last year, according to the statement.
By the end of June, mobile subscribers of the company came in at 946 million, with 5G package subscribers reaching 251 million.
According to the statement, a total of 501,000 5G base stations had been built by the operator as of the end of June.
The operator plans to build more than 700,000 5G base stations by the end of 2021.
