BEIJING, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai online new economy standardization alliance announced on Monday that it would formulate the city's first enterprise joint standards for online consumption right protection to promote development of online new economy.
In April last year, Shanghai released an action plan (2020-2022) to develop the city's online new economy, which put up to employ technologies like artificial intelligence, 5G networks and big data to transform traditional industries, in a bid to build itself into an international consumption center. Since the implementation of the action plan, the city's online new economy has exhibited great vitality, with 12 key areas such as online finance, online education, and grocery e-commerce embarking on a fast lane of development.
In order to execute the three-year action plan and further enhance the influence of standards made by Shanghai, 85 Shanghai-based industry associations and 53 industry-leading firms jointly establish the Shanghai online new economy standardization alliance in October of last year.
As consumption modes undergo tremendous changes due to rapid growth of online retail, live-streaming e-commerce and other forms of new online economy, all sectors of society are paying attention to the establishment of online consumption right protection norms and e-commerce enterprise credit standards.
Against the backdrop, online consumption right protection standards, which are an important part of online new economy standards, have become a significant guarantee for Shanghai to promote healthy development of online new economy.
The Shanghai online new economy standardization alliance plans to further standardize the operation mechanism of online consumption right protection through the construction of the enterprise joint standards for online consumption right protection.
It is learned that the alliance will work with Shanghai social credit promotion center to jointly set up an online new economy credit evaluation center, which will provide credit rating services for members of the alliance, so as to ensure the social credibility of a series of online new economy standards.
