BEIJING, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Transport authorities of Beijing Municipality announced that the use of digital renminbi (RMB) has been fully supported in a city-wide rail transit system since August 1, reported CCTV on Monday.
Since the end of June, Yitongxing app has enabled online payment with digital RMB. This move represents an extended application scenario of digital RMB, in which passengers could use it to buy tickets and cards, pay for ticket extensions and top up cards through ticket office and vending machine.
This move provides passengers with diversified payment method options and improves passengers' digitalized experience.
