BEIJING, July 30 (Xinhua) --The first traction substation in the Lao section of the China-Laos Railway began to deliver power recently, providing power guarantee for the smooth operation of China-Laos Railway, according to China Southern Power Grid Yunnan International Co.,Ltd.

It is learned the external power supply project for Laos section of the China-Laos Railway is designed to build 20-circuit 115kV transmission lines with a total length of 257 kilometers. Eleven 115kV substation intervals will be constructed as supporting expansion to connect 10 electrified railway traction substations to the Laos national grid.
The external power supply project was completed on March 31 this year.
The China-Laos Railway is an important project to promote the interconnection of infrastructure between China and Laos, and is composed of the China section and the Laos section.
